Watching various video content online, in particular educational lectures, we may come across the fact that the speaker's speech is very slow and there are long pauses in the video.

If the video content itself is interesting but the tedious narration tires you out, you should use the Skip Silence extension from github.com  for Chromium-powered browsers.

The addon allows you to automatically speed up parts of the video without sound, and in the settings we can set a volume threshold for what counts as silence. Skip Silence works with most sites, including YouTube.
