Windows server 2003 Roles

File Server :- Lets you share disks folders that can be accessed over the network.

Print  Server :- Lets you share printers over the network.

Application Server :- Install Microsoft`s Web server , internet Information services (also known as IIS).

Mail server :- Installs a basic POP3 and SMTP server for e-mail .

Terminal Sever :-  Alows other users to run applications on the server via network.

Remote Access/ VPN Server :- Enablesdialup and Vpn connections .

Domain controller ;- Enables Active Directory & designates the server as a domian controller

DNS Server ;-  Enables the DNS server for DNS name resolution

DHCP server :- Enables the DHCP server to dynamically assign IP addresses to client Computer.

Streaming Media server :- Enables the Streaming Media server

 WINS Server :-  Enables the WINS server for windows based name resolutions

How to configure a Team Viewer

Double click on Teamviewer exe file.

 

Select “install” & click on Next

( Install option is used to install team viewer in computer & Run is used to run only Team viewer without installation)

Select “Personal / non- commercial use” & Click on Next

(Personal / non- commercial use :-for personal use only

Company  / commercial use :- For company use

Both of above :- for both of above uses)

Select both option related with license & Click on Next

Select “start automatically with windows” , Type password you want to use as a default password & Click on Next

Select “Full access” & click on Next

Now Installation copies a file require for teamviwer

Now Teamviewer is installed Click on finish

After a some time Teamviewer start automatically & shows a ID “ 118 707 669” & password ”2070 “ . At the bottom it shows team viewer status . When status is “Ready to connect” means , team viewer is ready to connect any remote pc who’s id & password is known.

Step 1:- First of all check our lan  card is installed by device manager in control panel, if installed then go to 2^nd step else install drivers first.

Step 2:- Go to control panel-àNetwork Connection-à Local area connection -à Select Inernet Protocol -à

 

Open properties--àThe Default option is “Obtain IP address automatically” --à Select “Use the following IP address & fill the address like as shown in below given Pic. After it fill DNS SERVER by Selecting “use the following DNS server address.”

Click ok

After completing it go to control panel &  Run Network Setup Wizard

Step 3:-

 Network Setup Wizard is used toto Share internet connection, setup windows firewell,share file, folder & printer.

 Click on next

In Below picture windows is asking to check & install network cards,modem, cabels & turn on all pcs,internet & printers. 

Click on next

In Below pic.There are three options

1.       the computer is directly connected to the internet. The other computer on the network connected through this computer

2.       this computer is  connected to the internet through residential gateway or though another  computer on the network

3.       other--à in other there are tree sub-option

Select other & Click on next

1.       this computer is  connected to the Directly to the internet or through network hub or another  computer         also connected Directly or through network hub on the network

2.       This computer is  connected to the Directly to the internet & I donot have a network

3.       This computer belong to network that does not have internet connection

Click next after Selection of option according to yours requirements.

Next option is computer description & name

Enter comuter name ( that is unique means that mathch with any other computer on network)

Description:- if you want to fill any information about pc then fill else leave blank.

Click next

Fill workgroup name :- That is a name of yours network so it is same on all pc`s

Click next

This option is for file & print sharing

If you want to share files & printer then click on “ turn on file & printer sharing

Click next

it is description about network settings

Click next

Now windows is configuring yours network.

Select “just finish wizard I donot need to run wizard on other computer.

Click on next

Nwtowrk Setup Wizard is completed

Click on finish

Step:-4

Sharing Drives

Open My Computer

Right click on  drive you want to share, Select option Sharing & Security.

There is warning about sharing , you click on it.

There are two option “share the folder on network , tick on it. & second option is “ Allow nwtwork user to change my file” tick on this if you want that other user copy,edit & etc of yours files .Click apply & ok

Sharing is complted.

Step 5:- opening network

Open my network places-à views Workgroup computer---. There is a list of pcs on network

You can open any pc for work.
