Using Remote Desktop connection



One of the useful tools available to system administrator is a program called Remote Desktop connection or RDC for short. RDC lets you connect to server computer from your own computer & wise verse as if u sit at front at the front of computer.

Enabling remote access

First of all enable remote access on server to do that follow these steps ( on server computer)

1. Open the Control Panel , & double click on System.
    ( this bring up the System applet )
2. Click the Remote tab.
    ( this bring up the remote access options)
3. Select the Allow User to connect Remotely to This Computer check box.
4. Click OK.
You are done!

Connecting Remotely
After you enabled remote access on server you can connect to the server by
using the remote desktop client that is automatically installed with Windows XP. To do so follow these steps:-
1.  Chose Start    All Programs  Accessories   Communication   Remote  Desktop              Connection
2.  Enter the name of the computer you want to connect
3.  Click the Connect button.
     (you are connected to the computer & logon screen is displayed )
4.  Log on & use the computer.
     
     After you logon  you can use the computer as if you were sitting right in front of it.
